ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION

It is the policy of Vipiemme, and its constant commitment, to offer solutions aimed at respecting the environment, along with the protection and preservation of land.

Energy Audit

In accordance with Legislative Decree 102/2014, Vipiemme S.p.a. is obliged to draw up an energy audit. The survey carried out on consumption shows that this is almost exclusively attributable to the electricity carrier, given that the methane gas vector is used only for heating offices during the winter, with an impact on total consumption of around 19%. There is no consumption of diesel fuel or other fuels.

Consumption Management in Real Time

Vipiemme has implemented an energy consumption management system, starting with the activity of real-time monitoring, which permits an evaluation of the current status of the company, allowing for the identification of potential areas for improvement and real-time checking of any anomalies in plants. The implementation of the system enables the planning and management of energy efficiency operations via the reduction and optimisation of consumption.

Solar Power System

The company is equipped with a solar power system, with a peak power of 5 MW, which makes it possible to meet around 10% of the electricity demand.

Recycling of Raw Materials

All machines are designed and engineered to minimise atmospheric and water pollution. This is why our systems are able to work at maximum efficiency even with recycled lead. Thanks to the “expanded” CaCa technology, the machines are able to use less lead (-10%) compared to traditional systems, whilst achieving the same performance.

Reconditioning

Vipiemme guarantees the high quality of the products offered, ensuring that in the case of defective batteries, 99.7% of these will be put back into operation, thus avoiding the dispersion of high-pollution products in the environment.

Cobat

Since 1990, Vipiemme S.p.A. has been an active in COBAT, the consortium for the collection, transportation and proper recycling of lead batteries and lead waste, committing itself to promoting and disseminating, among operators and consumers, the importance and necessity of the collection and recycling of exhausted batteries.
Vipiemme guarantees a direct collection and transportation service for exhausted batteries, free of charge.

Reduced emissions

The company’s goal is to reduce emissions of greenhouse gases by 15% before 2020, via a reduction in the consumption of electricity and natural gas. With this in mind, all existing light bulbs have been replaced with LED light bulbs (with an expected annual saving of 168,089 kWh). Other efficiency solutions are being investigated, such as, for example the installation of inverters on the motors of mill grinders,with a further expected annual saving of 168,480 kWh.

PROJECTS

EcoRace

Eco Race Events is the first company organising sports events in Italy to have obtained ISO 20121 certification for sustainable events organisation. Vipiemme has long been an Eco Race sponsor and, for this reason, embraces its philosophy: that of giving life to sporting events in which all those involved are united in a project to promote good behaviour and practices that are sustainable from an economic, social and environmental point of view.

Agroenergia

Thanks to its know-how in the field of photovoltaics, Vipiemme, in collaboration with Nrg Agrivis, has been able to develop a plant for the production of electricity through a series of panels that generate a power equivalent to 1312.2 kWp, spread out over a surface area of eleven hectares. The plant, located in an agricultural area on the outskirts of Isso, provides zero-impact energy to over 1,400 families, using cutting-edge platforms that rotate according to the position of the sun. In this way, it guarantees a 30% increase in production compared to a fixed system.
